Pilates

We may be in lock down, but keeping moving is key.  Low impact Pilates exercises strengthen muscles and improve postural alignment and flexibility.  This is true for nearly everybody, regardless of starting point.  Even a few minutes after long NHS shifts can help.  And people of any age who would love to get out, but can't, can benefit too.

As a Polestar Pilates instructor, I work with the whole body: physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually.  Slow guided movements and breath control strengthen your body from your core.  Regular practise creates a stronger body with greater flexibility - again, whatever your start point.  Try free bite sized sessions or longer paid for classes.  The sessions are classified into beginners or intermediate, seated - great for over-70s (and you get to meet my mum, Janet) - or mat based.  Plus there are some classes using specific Pilates equipment.  For over 70s, there is a separate page to introduce you to Pilates.  Try a session now and see what it gives you.
